About the Event

For ANYONE struggling with Grief and Loss. Join a new movement to heal the void within!

This is a LIVE workshop presented by Psychotherapist, Jeanette Yoffe M.F.T.

Together, we are going to take an adventure through a guided visualization, by acknowledging the inner “abyss” that lives inside each one of us.

Coined the Primal wound.

The “primal wound” has been defined as that break in the intricate web of relationships in which we live and move, and our beingness is surreal. Where the fundamental trust and connection to the universe of life is betrayed, and we become strangers to ourselves and others, struggling for survival in a seemingly alien world. Our relationship to our deeper Self becomes wounded, abandoned, and extinguished. This wound cuts us off from the deeper roots of our existence.”

Basic Principles of this Workshop:

1. All losses must be mourned.

2. The magnitude of the loss is determined by what was lost.

3. Loss must be seen as the sum total of all the grief and mourning for each loss, as experienced in connection with the actual event.

4. All losses are unique to the individual.

5. Grief depends on the individual’s unique perception of the loss and the deprivation caused. It may not be seen, recognized, or validated by others.

6. The more complicated the relationship with what was lost the more complicated the mourning process.

7. In order to successfully mourn, we must deal with unfinished business.

Goals of Workshop:

  1. Acceptance—giving up, relinquishing, dealing with the finality of the loss.
  2. Attempts to resolve the loss of the attachment figure, ties, and the development of new attachments.
  3. Dealing with memories, thoughts, feelings, hopes, and needs, and expressing them.
  4. The development of a new identity: Revision of a sense of self.
  5. Development of a new narrative of personal history: Who I was, and who I am now.
  6. Move adaptively into the new post-loss world.
